These Candidates Raised $225 Million.
What Did You Get For It?

In 2024, U.S. Senate candidates raised over $2 billion — and the same structural problems that produce every crisis in American life remained untouched. Donating to politicians funds their careers. Donating to Write In Freedom funds the work that holds them accountable — research that has shaped Supreme Court rulings, exposed intelligence gaps, and reframed debates before the press or the parties knew what was happening.

Governors Control Your State.
Who Controls Them?

36 governor races are on the ballot in 2026. These executives control redistricting, election administration, law enforcement, and the daily reality of 330 million Americans. Yet the coverage focuses on the horse race, not the structural power. Write In Freedom does the work that political campaigns will never fund — exposing the machinery that keeps both parties in control regardless of who wins.

Write In Freedom — Structural Analysis
Mid-Decade Redistricting: The Maps They Drew To Keep Power

Six states have brand-new congressional maps for 2026 — the most mid-decade redistricting since the Gilded Age. Trump pressured Texas to redraw first. California countered. It cascaded. Both parties are rigging the game. Write In Freedom tracks it so you don't have to trust either side's framing.

Texas+5 GOP Seats Targeted
Trump-initiated. Signed by Abbott Aug 2025. Creates 5 new GOP-favorable districts. Supreme Court allowed the map to stand (Dec 2025). Democrats filed legal challenge. The map that started the national redistricting war.
California+5 Dem Seats Targeted
Newsom's counter-punch. Prop 50 passed 65-35% (Nov 2025). Federal judges allowed it Jan 2026. Bypasses the state's independent redistricting commission. DOJ sued. Dems currently hold 43 of 52 CA House seats.
Missouri+1 GOP Seat
Cleaver's district gutted. Special session called by Gov. Kehoe. Signed Sep 2025. Cleaver's Kansas City district goes from 62% Dem to 41% Dem. 300K+ signatures submitted to force ballot measure to block it.
North Carolina+1 GOP Seat
Davis's seat targeted. GOP legislature redrew Don Davis's district to be more Republican. Passed Oct 2025. Did not require Gov. Stein's signature. Federal judges allowed it Nov 2025.
Ohio+1-2 GOP Seats
Required by constitutional amendment. Redistricting Commission approved bipartisan map Oct 2025. Did not go as far as many Republicans wanted. Net effect: modest GOP advantage.
UtahCourt-Ordered +1 Dem
Prop 4 litigation. Judge ordered new map creating a Dem-leaning Salt Lake district. Gov. Cox expanded the Supreme Court in response. 200K+ Republicans signed petition to appeal. Most contentious state-level fight.

Also in progress: Virginia & Maryland (Dem-led, constitutional amendments advancing), Colorado (emergency redistricting authority proposed), South Carolina & Louisiana (watching Supreme Court VRA ruling). Indiana rejected redistricting after legislative resistance. Illinois passed candidate filing deadline before acting.
